HUMAN-IN-COMPLEXITY PRACTICE

Awareness.

Awareness in the Human-in-Complexity Framework™ is the discipline of developing the most accurate understanding of the operating environment the situation allows before acting.

What Awareness means

It requires leaders to separate what is known from what is assumed, notice changes in conditions, understand the people and systems involved, and actively look for evidence that contradicts the current view. Technology can expand awareness through monitoring, retrieval, analysis, and pattern recognition, but more information is not automatically better understanding.
